One year ago today
One year ago today, we dropped off our very first Foxboxes for two sweet babies on the hematology/oncology floor at @ohsudoernbecher. One box was for a music loving 11-month-old and the other was for an 8-month-old who had just discovered the joy of exploring the world with their hands. Both Foxboxes were built for each baby based on their developmental, educational, & social/emotional goals as well as their unique personalities.
As I sit here writing this post, I can’t help but feel how big that day was (and continues to be in my heart). The deep joy supporting babies, and their families, through long hospital stays was balanced with the profound sadness marking exactly 5 months since Cypress left the Earth at that same hospital — on the same floor.
As of today, we’ve supported 36 babies, their parents/caregivers, and siblings across 3 children’s hospitals. We’re working on our annual report celebrating our first year and I’m excited to share it with you soon.
