Baby Boxes

Updates_Activities.jpg

There are five types of Baby Boxes.

Our boxes are curated around developmental needs for babies such as
sleep, playtime, movement and feeding.

Big items that make a big impact.

Four of our baby boxes are built around one big item. Often these items are cost-prohibitive and not provided by hospitals.

Books!

Books are great for child development and for nourishing families through joy and laughter. Our books meet a child’s developmental need at each stage of their first 12 months of life. From black & white books during the early months when babies cannot see all colors, to sensory books with crinkly pages and flaps to encourage fine motor skills. Books can teach so much!

Music!

Our friend, Caspar Babypants, has kindly provided his music for our boxes! We know how important music can be while you’re living in the hospital. Whether you need to fill your room with extra joy and sunshine or you need some sleepy time jams, we’ve got you covered!

Decorations!

We know your baby is a unique individual. When families apply for a baby box, we spend some time getting to know what their baby likes and doesn’t like. What kinds of colors do they find joy in? Do they have a favorite animal? Do they like sounds, lights and motion or do they prefer quieter environments? We take that information and customize the decorations for every box. Examples of decorations include mobiles, garlands for hanging above a crib or window and artwork.

Comfort items & Activities!

Comfort items provide babies with sensory support and emotional regulation. Activities build brain and body skills that babies need to move and interact with the world. For babies, every moment is an opportunity to learn and grow and that doesn’t stop in hospital. We include important items that meet each baby’s developmental stage and support their learning and growth.

How were these items chosen?

With the help of early learning and health care specialists, we chose items that not only support a child’s growth and development but are also brands we can stand behind.

Items in our boxes teach children:

  • Language & communication

  • Gross motor

  • Fine motor

  • Sensory development

  • Social & emotional skills

  • Brain development  + executive functioning

Brands we’d love to work with:
Ergobaby, Baby Tula, Baby Einstein, Bright Starts, Munchkin, Primary, Yeti, Douglas, Angel Dear, Manhattan Toy, Hape, Melissa and Doug, BabyBjorn, SkipHop, Bumbo & Workman Publishing.

What does it mean to be a brand partner?

Although our boxes were chosen by non-affiliated specialists we do work with brands via partnerships. Brands offer donated or discounted items and our families are grateful because it allows us to give more and often.
